Training for carers, families and professionals

Headway West Sussex is working with Robinson McSwan and Rowena Lewis Training to deliver training for professionals working with people with brain injury, families and carers. It is our hope to share our expertise to ensure that whenever a person with brain injury, a family member or a carer seeks support they will do so with a professional who understands the effects of brain injury and its impact on family life and in doing so improve the outcomes and experience for everyone.

Our ‘What is Brain Injury?’ course for unpaid carers and family members seeks to empower people with an understanding that can really make a positive difference to their lives. So many families bring a loved one home from hospital without even the most basic understanding about what brain injury is and what it’s effects are. We want to change this so that all families have the information that they really need.

With the exception of “What is Brain Injury?’ our other courses are not brain injury specific and lend themselves to all those who work with adults with complex needs. Leading to positive outcomes for attendees in their professional engagements.
